Skagway Your Way (A Private Tour)

View from the Summit

This Private Tour Departs from Skagway, Alaska

Experience Skagway “Your Way” in a comfortable vehicle on this private tour led by an experienced guide. From Skagway, there are two main directions to choose from – each spectacular. Climb up into the mountains via the dramatic White Pass or stay along the rich coastline to visit the former gold rush town of Dyea.

Yukon Suspension Bridge

The White Pass is a wonderland of impressive peaks, azure lakes and stunted forests. You may decide to focus on the Summit, exploring at a relaxed pace with plenty of photo stops. Or choose less stops and more scenic driving time to visit the Yukon Suspension Bridge. Once there, venture out onto the bridge to feel the power of the Tutshi River and the formidable rapids below. The Yukon Suspension Bridge facility has wonderful educational exhibits detailing the Klondike Gold Rush and the natural history of the Yukon Territory. There’s even a small cafe and gift shop.

Dyea Coastline

Another option is to drive along the scenic coast to Dyea, protected as part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. In 1898, Dyea boasted over 8,000 residents with a Main Street lined with dozens of hotels, restaurants and saloons. Today, the townsite has been reclaimed by Alaskan nature. Join your guide for a peaceful walk through the former townsite, visit the Slide Cemetery or spend your time looking for bald eagles and harbor seals.

Since this is a private tour, you and your guide will decide together where to go and how much time to spend at each stop during your three hours together. Whether your interests are history, scenery, nature photography, or a combination of each, your guide will make sure you get the most out of your private tour.

The choice is yours- its Skagway Your Way!
