Each month during our operating season, our team joins in a friendly photo contest to capture the moments that define life out here. The wild, the beautiful, the unexpected, and everything in between. Photos are submitted by staff and voted on by both the team and our local community. New Growth - This month’s photo contest theme was New Growth, celebrating the signs of a new season. From fresh blooms and emerging greenery to changing landscapes, wildlife activity, and new experiences, the theme highlighted growth, renewal, and the excitement that comes with new beginnings.
About the Photographer
Katt is spending her first season in Haines as a Wildlife and Photography Guide with Rainbow Glacier Adventures. Originally from Colorado, she has a deep passion for wildlife and is known around the team as our "bear expert." Whether she’s sharing her knowledge of Alaska’s incredible wildlife or capturing memorable moments through her lens, Katt brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors to every tour.

Guides in Action - This month’s photo contest theme was "Guides in Action!" This months theme aimed to highlight our guides leading tours, connecting with guests, sharing their knowledge, and enjoying the outdoors in Alaska both on and off the job.
About the Photographer
Lydia was raised in Haines, Alaska, and has been part of the Rainbow Glacier Adventures team on and off while attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This season marks her first year as a river rafting guide! Her winning photo captures her guiding a wildlife tour and sharing her local knowledge of Haines with guests.
